The newspaperGhanaian 'THE INSIGHT', close to the pro-Nkrumah party, CPP, in its issue No. 1293 of Friday, October 21, 2011 on pages 1 & 11, wrote an important open letter to Louis Moreno Ocampo the ICC Prosecutor to assist his investigations on crimes in Ivory Coast.

Dear Mr. Moreno Ocampo, you have arrived in Côte d’Ivoire, sent by the Judges of the International Criminal Court (ICC) ostensibly to investigate war crimes and human right abuses in the wake of violence that followed the disputed elections in this nation. The ICC has now been known to be a court that sits in judgment against the defeated side in a war, especially if that defeated side is considered as enemy by certain powerful countries in this world .In the history of the ICC ,I have never known you or your employers to investigate war crimes, human right abuses and atrocities committed by those whose activities are approved by the western countries.
For example, although atrocities and human right abuses are currently taking place in Yemen and Bahrain, you have not been interested in those.

According to his spokesman, President Laurent Gbagbo in custody in Korhogo has instructed his lawyers to bind the necessary procedures to ensure that the truth comes out in the case of women of Houphouetists Rally for Democracy and Peace (RHDP) who were killed March 3, 2011, while protesting bare hands in the Council (commune) of Abobo. Preliminary investigations of the chamber 3 of the International Criminal Court asked the prosecutor to open an investigation into the post-election events occurred in the Ivory Coast. Pending the outcome of these proceedings, I would in my capacity as Minister of Defence at the time, first present my condolences to the families of all victims of this crisis, then make my testimony on the case of women of Abobo, and finally share painful questions about the case lived at the time by the Government of Professor Ake N'GBO.

The post-election crisis in Côte d’Ivoire was a very painful experience for the people of that country; each individual has personal reasons. I would therefore like to publicly express my deepest sympathy to all those who suffered and continue to suffer as a result of the crisis. Given that the elections held will not be the last and the same goes for the crises experienced, our sympathy would be futile if the suffering endured should rear its ugly head again. To stem all forms of resentment, only the discovery of the truth regarding the 28 November elections, an examination of the problems encountered and steps to take to parry away any crisis, or measures to adopt to peacefully resolve them in the event of their occurrence, can help us to heal our wounds and build our nation on the verge of collapse. It would be a methodological error if tackled the crisis while failing to deal with the cause thereof, since this would not shelter us from another crisis, and given that same causes produce same effects.
The greatest war that we must wage to ensure a lasting entrenchment of democracy is the war against election fraud, which proved endemic in the 2010 elections.
